2016 Cape Verde presidential elections: AU EOM statements

AUEOM leader Manuel Serifo Nhamadjo, former Acting President of the Republic of Guinée-BissauThe Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma decided to dispatch a Mission to the presidential elections set for the 2 October 2016 in the Republic of Cape Verde, to monitor and report on the electoral process.

The African Union Electoral Observation Mission (AUEOM) is led by Manuel Serifo Nhamadjo, former Acting President of the Republic of Guinée-Bissau. The team comprises of 29 observers and includes ambassadors accredited to the African Union, officials of election management bodies, members of civil society. The team is drawn from 19 countries, representing the geographical diversity of the continent.
