EISA launches APRM Toolkit at Mozambique National APRM Conference
EISA was honoured by several high profile guests at the launch of APRM Toolkit at a National APRM Conference for civil society organizations in Maputo on 21 August 2007. The conference was attended by more than 100 representatives from civil society, as well as government officials; parliamentarians; the Chairperson of the Mozambique National APRM Forum, Mr. Lourenço do Rosário; the Minister of Justice for Mozambique, Hon. Esperança Machavel; and Mrs. Graca Machel, member of the APR Panel of Eminent Persons.
The toolkit is a new and exciting resource designed for civil society organisations engaged in the APRM. It was developed by EISA for the Southern African Integration Network, a network of NGOs and CSOs engaged in efforts at integrating and coordinating civil society efforts within Southern Africa. It is available free of charge in both CD Format and on the internet at www.aprmtoolkit.org. EISA is proud to present this first edition and hopes it will continue to expand and develop as greater resources and country experiences in the APRM become available. The toolkit is currently available in English and Portuguese.
The toolkit is supported financially by the Ford Foundation Special Initiative for Africa and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
