South African Political Parties Training Workshop

EISA will hold a workshop for South African political parties in North West Province. The workshop is conducted under the Strengthening Political Parties for Sustainable Democracy in the SADC Region Programme, Phase III, funded by the Embassy of Finland in Pretoria. The workshop is the first of a series of provincial based capacity building workshops. In the light of the forthcoming elections in April 2009, the specific objectives of the workshop are to:

• Equip parties in South Africa with campaigning skills ahead of the April 2009 elections.
• Provide participants with effective leadership skills
• Equip participants with organisational development skills
• Give participants an insight into political party coalitions
• Empower participants with conflict management skills
• Enable parties to participate in electoral processes
