Botswana political parties workshop

This workshop forms part of the Strengthening Political Parties for Sustainable Democracy in the SADC Region project.

This project has entered the capacity building phase. Botswana is the first country where this workshop will be held. Other countries included in the project are Lesotho, South Africa and Swaziland.

Goal

To contribute to party capacity building.

Objectives

The workshop aims to build participant capacity by:

• establishing an understanding of the nature and character of political parties
• providing effective leadership skills
• building organisational development skills
• introducing public outreach strategies
• developing insight into political party coalitions
• introducing conflict management skills
• enhancing participation in electoral processes
