Botswana Political Parties Training Workshops

In the light of the forthcoming Botswana elections in October 2009, EISA is conducting a number of training workshops for political parties in Botswana in August and September 2009. These workshops form part of the activities under the project entitled Strengthening Political Parties for Sustainable Democracy in the SADC Region (Phase III).

The objective of the workshops is to enable parties to participate in the electoral process, more specifically to:

• equip parties in Botswana with campaigning skills
• assist party officials in preparing their election
• provide information relating to electoral law, codes of conduct, electoral procedures and poll watching and to
• provide participants with effective leadership skills.
