Nepalese Delegation 2007

EISA is hosting a study trip to South Africa and Lesotho for a legal delegation of the Election Commission of Nepal. The delegation is studying the constitutional, legal and political processes and implications of implementing proportional and mixed election systems.

The delegation also aims to understand the broader operational consequences of these election systems and the institutions that exist to address them. It will have lengthy meetings with the Independent Electoral Commissions of South Africa and Lesotho as well as other stakeholders, including representatives of poltiical parties, election experts, academics, judges and civil society organisations.

The delegation is led by Commissioner Mr Dolakh Bahadur Gurung.
