APR Team
Periodically, participating countries in the APRM will receive official visits by a team of APR officials and experts from partner institutions to offer expert advice and assistance to the country in question. An APR team can be constituted and visit a country for two types of mission, namely:
- A country support mission (CSM); or
- A country review mission (CRM).
During a country support mission, an APR team is afforded an opportunity to assess the progress made in implementing a country's self-assessment process, the quality and suitability of its national structures in implementing the APRM within the country, and to offer the country's stakeholders advice and assistance where necessary.
During a country review mission, an APR team conducts an extensive visit of the country at the conclusion of its self-assessment process. During this visit a CRM will attempt to meet with a wide variety of national stakeholder groups, including: the APRM national structures, government and state institutions, parliament, business groups, civil society groups and other community leaders. After considering the views expressed by these national stakeholders, the CRM receives a country's draft Country Self-Assessment Report (CSAR) (See Review), and submits the CSAR along with a country review report to the APR Panel of Eminent Persons.
