Country Support Missions
As a country nears the stage when it is prepared to engage in its self-assessment process, a number of technical, procedural and conceptual challenges are likely to emerge. In recognition of this, the APR Secretariat can, at the behest of the APR Panel, convene a Country Support Mission (CSM) to visit the country. The CSM has a dual role in that it is sent to the country in question to firstly review the preparations being made and comment on their suitability, and secondly to offer advice and assistance to the national APRM structures established (or being established) in the country. A CSM can be constituted at any time prior to a country's submission of a draft Country Self-Assessment Report (CSAR) to the APR Secretariat.
