Report made available for public scrutiny (Stage 5)

Once the report has been received at a meeting of the APR Forum, AU summit or NEPAD steering committee meeting, it is withheld for a period of six months, after which time it is released to the public for scrutiny. This makes it possible for national stakeholders who participated in the national country processes during Stage 1 to monitor the implementation of strategies to address concerns that have been raised in the report and are detailed in the Programme of Action. After an appropriate period (estimated at 5 years), the country will begin preparations for an evaluation of its progress towards the objectives outlined in the POA, and develop a new report and strategy for the next five year period. Thus the process cycles around and begins again.
