Dr Dorothy Njeuma

Dr Dorothy L Njeuma is from Cameroon and represents Central Africa on the panel and is the Vice Chairperson.

Dr Njuema was educated in Nigeria and Cameroon before obtaining a degree in Biology from Brown University, and a PhD in Zoology from the University College in London in 1970.

Dr Njeuma held various education and management posts until 1993, when she was appointed Vice Chancellor of the newly created University of Buea, which she currently heads. Under Dr Njeuma's leadership the University has been recognised as one of the leading state universities in Cameroon. Dr Njeuma, in the course of her studies and early academic career, won several scholarship awards, and has received numerous national honours and international honours. She also currently sits on the boards of numerous educational and state structures and has a distinguished track record on promoting women's rights and gender equality.

She is a member of several national and international associations and has held senior posts in several of them. Currently, she is the President of the Conference of Rectors of Cameroon State Universities, and since 2002, she has been a Member of Bureau of the Council of United Nations University.
