Zimbabwe: 2008 House of Assembly election results

The election was held on the 29 March 2008. All 210 of the House of Assembly seats are elective.
Postponements and by-elections
As a result of the deaths of candidates in three House of Assembly constituencies, voting was postponed in Pelandaba-Mpopoma, Gwanda South and Redcliff (Veritas 2008a).
By-elections for the three constituencies were held on the 27 June 2008, the same day as the presidential run-off (Veritas 2008b). Two seats, Gwanda South and Redcliff, were won by ZANU-PF and the third, Pelandaba-Mpopoma, by MDC-T (Veritas 2008b). This gave MDC-T a total of 100 seats in the House of Assembly (47.62%) and ZANU-PF 99 seats (47.14), while MDC-M's tally remained at 10 (4.78).
Election results for 29 March 2008
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission ordered a recount of the Presidential, House of Assembly, Senatorial and local authority ballots elections in 23 constituencies on 19 Apr 2008. The last results of the recount were announced on 30 April and the original winners of the House of Assembly and Senate constituencies were confirmed (for details see Post-election - the partial recount).
