Results validation: Constitutional Council confirmed the results on 16 Jan 2009, except for Milange where it allocated one less seat to FRELIMO and one more to UNAMO.
Results announcement: National Election Commission must announce official results by 4 Dec 2008.

Election day: 19 Nov 2008.
Official campaign period: 4-16 Nov 2008, inclusive.
Candidate nomination: Closes 5 Sept 2008.
Voters' roll inspection: 18-20 Mar 2008, at district STAE office.
Voter registration: Three drives: 24 Sep-15 Dec 2007; 15 Jan-15 Mar 2008; 6 Jul-4 Aug 2008. Aproximately 9 million people registered, about 88% of the estimated 10.2 million people eligible.
