Mauritius: Electoral Boundaries Commission

The Electoral Boundaries Commission delimits and reviews the constituencies and their boundaries.

Composition

The Commission consists of a Chairperson and not less than two, or more than seven other members. The President makes the appointments, acting in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister, after the latter has consulted with the Leader of the Opposition. The members are not allowed to be a member of, or candidate for election to the Assembly or any local authority, or be a public officer or local government officer.

Term of Office

The term of office is 5 years.
