The Kisangani Retreat

The Senate and EISA signed special Terms of Reference for the Kisangani retreat. EISA began consultations with those who had attended the previous activities, with the following aims in mind
- keeping the international community involved in EISA's work with the Senate and
- ensuring a smooth path for international contributions and support for the process.
Twenty-three people participated as follows
- 10 Senators
- 5 Staff (Administration Staff of the Constitutional Commission)
- 6 Experts (EU:1; UNDP:1; Global Rights:1; IFES:1; and EISA:2)
- EISA Country-Director and Program Officer
As a result of the retreat, a draft Constitution is now ready for discussion through the Constitutional Commission and also the Senate, before its adoption and transmission to the National Assembly.
